Books in the Queue
Two big events have conspired recently to make reading more difficult for me. The first one is our move from Michigan to Virginia. In making the move I obviously had to change libraries. A big plus (at least in my mind) for our new home in Virginia, is that we’re walking distance to the library. The downside is that the local library system has a much smaller selection of books from which it draws. I’ve discovered a growing list of books that I want to read that our new library doesn’t have access to.
A bigger change to my reading life has been the birth of my son. For some reason, he doesn’t want to play quietly on his own for several hours while mommy reads. Because of these changes, I have access to fewer books, and less time to read the ones I do check out. But yet, I continue to stumble across books that I really need to read.
And so, I’ve reached the point in my life in which I must maintain a “to read someday” list. Never before have I had such a list, but now it’s become a necessity. And so begins my queue. . .
