This was a cute romance that I would have enjoyed more when I was 13. The unique part of this book is that the main character, Kate, is writing a romance novel, and the book is supposed to be her novel. So throughout the story, Kate adds her own commentay and “revision notes” in which she explains her choice of words, makes fun of romance novel language, etc.

Hannah is a pregnant teenager, whose boyfriend has abandoned her, and whose mother is unable to help her. This book was able to discuss the consequences of teenage sex and pregnancy without sounding preachy or unrealistic. Most of the story was told from Hannah’s perspective, but several chapters were devoted to her best friend’s perspective, and the baby’s uncle’s perspective.
