For as long as I’ve been able to read, I’ve loved to read. Reading for me is relaxing, a hobby, an escape, and a way to learn more about the world around me. When I’m reading a book, everything else disappears. My husband says, “Now I’ve got my wife back” whenever I finish a book, and then groans as I reach for the next one.

Several years ago, I began logging in a notebook the title, author and a few thoughts about each book I read. I used this notebook to keep track of favorite books and authors, and to recommend books to family and friends. I found that as I searched for new books to read, my book log served as a good reminder of authors and topics that I had enjoyed in the past. Recently, I began recording this information at BookPikks. I will continue to record new books as I read them, and add books that I’ve read previously. Hopefully my reading choices can help to guide yours as well.
